Transport Advocacy

Information on long range transportation planning for the area can be found in the following documents:

Baltimore City Department of Transportation

  • Southeast Baltimore Transportation Action Plan
  • Transportation Strategic Plan (March 2003)

The Central Maryland Transportation Alliance (CMTA)

The CMTA is dedicated to improving travel efficiency in central Maryland and advocates for comprehensive and innovative transportation planning, as well as short and long term strategies for improving transportation.

In addition, the Baltimore Regional Transportation Board which is the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Baltimore region is also a key partner. As an MPO, the BRTB is directly responsible for making sure that any money spent on existing and future transportation projects and programs is based on a continuing, cooperative and comprehensive (3-C) planning process. All transportation projects and programs that receive federal funding in our region go through this planning process. Grant funds have been approved by the BRTB for the Waterfront Partnership's transportation initiatives.

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA),

the State's Transit agency is a multi-modal agency providing several types of transportation services.
